FINAL 4 VARAŽDIN – Everyone coming to take the crown!
We are only two days away from Varaždin Final 4 at the end of SEHA Gazprom fifth season. Teams are set to arrive on Wednesday and Thursday with first activities scheduled for Thursday.
SEHA Gazprom League will organize a charity event donating to Varaždin hospital (Ivana Meštrovića b.b., Varaždin) on Thursday (10:00 CET).
First 15 minutes of each teams training session will be opened for media covering (filming).
And here are players expectations right ahead of F4 semis:
Mirko Alilović (MVM Veszprem):
Tough tournament is ahead of us. We will in semis meet Meshkov which we have positive score against playing them five times and winning each match through last two seasons. I hope story will repeat once again. I expect finals but it is hard to say who will we meet there Zagreb or Vardar. Zagreb will play more-less on home court with fans behind them especially after the triumph against RN Löwen. However, we expect second title. I am looking forward to playing in Varaždin having some good memories from there and I hope I'll manage to keep it that way.
Stipe Mandalinić (PPD Zagreb):
Semi-final against Vardar is always a great challenge. Our wish is to perform great in both CL and SEHA finals. What we have to do is show winning spirit as we did against Löwen. We are not afraid, our goal is victory. Final 4 will however host 4 of the best teams in the region and which ever team goes all the way it won't be surprising.
Ilija Abutović (Vardar):
Strong tournament is ahead of us. Zagreb have proved quality in Mannheim and they will be hosts in Varaždin. We have quality to reach finals and I hope we'll prove it. Veszprem are on the other side, looking at rosters, clear favorites against Meshkov.
Ivan Pešić (Meshkov):
In semis we'll meet Veszprem which has best defence in the world. We'll have to give 120% of us to succeed and by that we have to hope they do not have one of their best days. However despite of that result our goal is to finish the tournament with a victory. Varaždin is a great choice for host-city, I'm looking forward to playing there, to coming back to Croatia and seeing my friends.
