FINAL 4: Presenting No.2 Vardar
As everyone else Vardar have also experienced quite a lot of problems due to injuries throughout the season which has most certainly affected their form at some point. However, when it was most important, Macedonian champions have proved to be a really good, top-quality team. In the end as expected, only a step after Veszprem after even managing to get two draws from clashes against Hungarians. They are also doing quite good in Champions League finishing the group stage on third position and reaching quarter-finals where they will clash against MVM Veszprem after the eighth-finals triumph against Polish Wisla Plock.
Defence with Abutović and Toskić in main roles along with remarkable goalkeeping trio Šterbik - Milić - Angelov was there to drag them through the season when it was not easy.
Raul Gonzales has succeeded in creating a style in which each winger has his role in success, first duo Dibirov - Shishkarev and then of course Manaskov - Brumen. Stoilov and Marsenić were there to help Toskić in attacking phase. Struggle was however real in back line. First Dereven got injured, then Lazarov, then Lacković left and even Karačić was experiencing difficulties but Cindrić has an amazing season behind him along with shooters Gorbok, Dujshebaev and Maqueda who were there to keep the story running.
Šterbik, Maqueda and Dujshebaev have silvers from EURO in Poland with Spain and Cindrić and Karačić have bronze medals with Croatia which makes Vardar No. 1 in the League considering that category with 5 medal winners from Poland.
