CO Zagreb easily over Borac M:tel
In the second round of SEHA
Gaszprom South Stream league CO Zagreb hosted Bosnian HC Borac M:tel in
Sutinska Vrela hall and won dominantly 44:20.
The fact that CO Zagreb is at the moment better team than Borac was clear in the very beginning of the match when Zagreb started making the goal difference. Last equaliser of the match was at 3:3 which says everything. Goal gap was growing each minute (10:4, 16:5, 20:6, 21:7) until it finally reached the half-time result, 22:7. Zlatko Horvat scored 6, Lovro Šprem 5, Stipe Mandalinić had some wonderful assists and Ivić was outstanding with 9 saves for CO Zagreb.
In the second half Zagreb's coach Dvoršek rotated much until he finally changed the whole lineup giving chance to many young players (Mihić, Čorić, Šebetić and Kaleb). Even this summer's reinforcement Šandrk got his chance and scored 2 in his SEHA GSS league's debut. In the end there were some great goals and attractive moves which led to the final result, 44:19.
In the end, youngsters Kaleb, Šebetić and captain Horvat scored 6 goals in Zagreb's lines, Trivundža and Janković 4 for Borac. Although there were so many goals in the end, man of the match is probably Zagreb's goalkeeper Filip Ivić with unbelievable 21 saves.
After the match Borac's coach Crnomarković commented that it is clear that Zagreb is at the moment way better team than Borac: ''We had many young players today because of our bad financial situation but I hope that in the near future things will get better and that we'll be able to play against such strong teams as Zagreb. ''
Stefan Janković could not add much more on that: ''They proved that they're better and I congratulate them. We have to train real hard to be able to play on their level- concluded Janković.
Zagreb's coach Dvoršek was clearly satisfied with todays performance: ''We knew that quality difference is big between us and Borac but I wanted my team to play fully concentrated in attack and defence and they were doing exactly what I told them. Nothing more I could ask for, great win.''
Ante Kaleb, Zagreb's youngster who scored 6 in today's match added that this wasn't more than training to them and that they are already looking forward to next Saturday: ''Of course I am happy about today's win but the thing whole team is looking forward to is the match against Celje in EHF Champions league next Saturday. We're preparing for that and I hope we will show what we can and win. I also wish Borac to improve their financial situation in future because it's a club with great past.''
Zagreb's next match will be already mentioned EHF CL clash against Slovenian Celje on 21. September and only day later Borac will host NEXE in Banja Luka.
