EHF Euro 2018, Day 9: Croatia achieve a huge win against Norway
Today we saw two quite opposite matches in Arena Zagreb. France defeated Sweden in a game where only 40 goals were scored. Nikola Karabatic got sent off early on, but the French players were able to hold Sweden to only 17 goals. It ended 23:17, which means France now has 6 points in Group I.
Group I (Zagreb): Croatia - Norway 32:28 (17:15)It was an incredible start to the match for Croatia, and an early lead meant Croatians were full of confidence throughout the whole match. Ivan Stevanovic was amazing with 14 saves, and he made save after save when it mattered the most. Croatia never saw the lead slip and were undoubtedly the better team against Norway. It was sort of a revenge match for the hosts, who lost to Norway in the semi-finals at the last World Cup. Manuel Strlek was the player who led Croatia in scoring with 6, but the back players Cindric, Mamic and Stepancic somehow always found a solution to score. Croatia now has 6 points, but still have France ahead of them.
