Macedonian champion RK Vardar is back on the winning track in Novi Sad against Vojvodina 30:21 (16:12) at the SEHA GAZPROM South Stream League - Round 5. In front of 500 home fans at "Slana Bara" hall, Zoran Kastratovic’s team broke the resistance of the Serbian rival during last quarter of the match with 5:0 series from 48th to 56th minute (22:19 - 27:19). Vojvodina’s back line was stopped by good defensive wall of Macedonians, which was decisive for the final result. The TOP scorer was Vardar’s right wing Matjaz Brumen with 7 goals, while Vojvodina’s left back Uros Elezovic scored 6 - all in the first half.
At the beginning of the match Vojvodina gave a real fight to tired rival, who played four tough matches in the last ten days. Two Vojvodina’s back line player, Uros Elezovic and Milan Mirkovic were the biggest treath to the net of Vardar's giant between the posts - Strahinja Milic. Vojvodina was in lead 7:6 in 12th minute, the last time two minutes later 8:7, when Vardar took the match on their own hands.
Strong defensive line with Timur Dibirov ahead, quality shooting series of Nemanja Pribak and Vladimir Petric gave the new energy to the away team who made series 5:1 and clear advantage on the half-time break  - 12:16.
Team of Momir Rnic had energy for only 10 minutes of the second half. Longer bench of his colleague Zoran Kastratovic made advantage between two teams higher. The last chance for some kind of interesting ending, Vojvodina had in 45th minute, when Kastratovic called time-out (18:20). His suggestions was decisive for better performance of his players in the last quarter of the match.  Vojvodina scored only three goals in the last 15 minutes of the match.
Vardar began to play outstanding defense and that was enough for 7:1 series (19:26)…

I would like to thank our hosts for the very warm welcome and very fair and sportsmenlike game,we arrived in Novi Sad very tired after very tough match with Tatran Presov,we couldn use injured Karacic and tired Toskic this game.Vojvodina started the match better than us,with fast transition and very good offense they overpowerd our defense,but we were able to stabilize our game and by the end of the 1st half we had 4 goals lead.In the 2nd half we controlled the game but we had a period of bad offense and defence and Vojvodina players used that to approach to only 2 goals difference.At the end better quality and experience of Vardar players resulted with easy win with 9 golas difference.Final result is maybe to big and doesn’t reflect the quality of HC Vojvodina,I wish them all the luck in SEHA league and in the Serbian championship

I would like to congratulate team of Vardar for their deserved win,I also agree with Zoran that the final result is maybe to big and it doesn’t reflect the situation on the court.We knew how good team is Vardar,and we wanted to to put a big effort and fight we were able to do so almost 50 minutes,but with few errors and misses in the last 10 minutes the game was lost

After surprised lose from Tatran we knew we had to win in Novi Sad and we did our best to win 3 points and continue to our goal which is qualifying to F4,Vojvodina showed that they are very serious team and I wish them all the luck in the future games.We are now facing new challenges in champions league ,domestic league and SEHA

I would like to congratulate Vardar for their deserved  win,we knew that they are favourites in this match but we hoped we can make a surprise,we were not able to be competitive all 60 minutes,we don’t have much time to rest in 3 days we are playing against Lovcen and we will do our best to win 3 more points
