2021 WCh Egypt - Day 1: Let the games begin!
Yahia scores four as Egypt cruise past Chile
The wait is finally over – 2021 WCh in Egypt has finally begun! Traditionally, only one match was played on the first day, the one in which hosts Egypt managed to reach a dominant 35:29 win versus Chile displaying a solid performance and stating they’ll obviously look to go as far as possible on their home soil. Telekom Veszprem’ right back Omar Yahia delivered a solid performance for hosts finishing the match with four goals.
We won’t have to wait long to see SEHA national teams in action with Belarus and Macedonia looking to book their first points as early as tomorrow. Belarus will square off against Russia in Alexandria and Macedonians will play Sweden in Cairo. It will be great to see Macedonians out there led by already legendary Kiril Lazarov against one of Europe’s best national teams, especially knowing that Macedonians found out they’ll be replacing Czech Republic in Egypt less than 48 hours ago. Make sure not to miss that one!
Official SEHA – Gazprom League website will bring you everything you need to know about the handball spectacle in Egypt with, of course, special focus on our SEHA national teams and players so make sure to stay tuned. Apart from daily recaps, we’re also bringing you a list of our SEHA national team players on 2021 WCh which will be updated daily. Let the games begin!
