Vojvodina secure third Serbian Cup title in a row
In a SEHA - Gazprom League derby played in Serbian Cup final in Smederevo Vojvodina celebrated 19:17 win over Metaloplastika securing third Cup title in a row, seventh overall.
Metaloplastika delivered a great performance proving this really is the biggest Serbian derby match at the moment. Coach Veselin Vukovic and his guys had a two-goal lead on a few occasions in the first half but weren’t able to keep the gap open until the half-time whistle – after first 30 the score was levelled 10:10. Things remained the same throughout the bigger part of the first until final five minutes when Svetislav Verkic grabbed a few key saves and Mladen Sotic made a key steal turning it into a deal-sealing goal as reigning champs went to +3 (19:16).
Jovica Nikolic once again led his team with six goals while Strahinja Stankovic added four. Vojislav Brajovic on the other side finished the match with seven for Metaloplastika.
