Belarus champions, Meshkov Brest, are also getting ready for a SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 push and they will be needing all the help they can get. For now it seems that their team will be weakened, since three fundamental players already left the capital of Belarus.

First and foremost, Meshkov team lost one of the greatest SEHA players when Simon Razgor decided to go back to Slovenia and play for Maribor Branik. The Slovenian left wing came to Brest in 2014 and was a part of Belarus squad for 7 years, scoring 210 goals in 95 SEHA matches. Unfortunately, Meshkov Brest had only one appearance in SEHA – Gazprom League Final during his spell, which happened in his first season when they lost to Veszprem. He was and still is one of the most efficient wingers in the game as he constantly worked on improving his skill and scored many important goals.

Sandro Obranovic will also be packing, because he decided to return to Zagreb and strenghten an already strong PPD team. Obranovic plays as a centre back and is well-known for his passing and shooting ability, which will surely affect how Veselin Vujovic prepares Vardar 1961 for the 'Lions'.

Another player that said goodbye to the thirteen-time champion of Belarus is Alexander Shkurinskiy. Nantes obviously offered better conditions to the Russian left-back and he couldn't pass up the chance of playing with the likes of Kiril Lazarov, Emil Nielsen and Rock Feliho. Alexander Shkurinskiy could definitely be the missing piece when a match comes down to the wire. Since 2017, Shkurinskiy managed to put the ball behind SEHA keepers 113 times in 31 match. All in all, no wonder he was so wanted by a team that is still eager to win their first French championship.

France is clearly a great destination for handball players from Belarus league. Marko Panic is the last player that should be leaving Brest for now. The right back from Bosnia and Herzegovina is moving to Montpellier after spending two years in a blue kit. It is a shame he didn't get more time to shine on SEHA courts, as he played only 9 matches in two seasons, but scored 31 goals.

Meshkov Brest fans shouldn't be worried as their backcourt positions will be filled in with two young stars  - Baptiste Bonnefond and Stanislav Kasparek. Bonnefond comes from PAUC, the fourth club in French league. He has been a part of the French national team since 2015, but also had the privilege of winning the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2009. His biggest achievement is winning the Champions League with Montpellier in 2018. Czech national team player Stanislav Kasparek is a reigning champ in Hungary, as Pick-Szeged surprised everyone and took the trophy in front of Telekom Veszprem. It will be a real refreshment to see some new faces on SEHA courts, especially when they are coming from some of the best domestic leagues in the world.

The one thing that may be a subject of change is Meshkov Brest' tactical plan. Daniel Gordo and Nuno Farelo, who already worked together in Balonmano Nava and coached the Brazilian national squad, will be in charge during this season's finale and the entriety of 2021/2022 season. This will be their first SEHA experience, so it will be fun to see how they adapt to new circumstances. Judging by some of their results with Brazil (for instance winning against Bolivia 77 – 9 at South and Central American Championship), we are in for a very interesting season!
