For the second time in a row, Zadar will be the host city of a SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 event. From 3rd to 5th September, the Croatian city will witness the pinnacle event of the season 2020/21. It is, of course, the tenth SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 and already the fourth time it will be held in Croatia.

Before we even know the four teams, who will face off for the trophy, here are the most important Facts and Figures of the previous nine SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 events.

1 - for the first and only time in history, 12 teams were part of the SEHA - Gazprom League in the season 2019/20, and for the first time, the regular season was split into two groups, followed by Play-Off and Quarter-Final. In the current season, eight teams played in the group phase and two sides – Telekom Veszprem and Meshkov Brest - had directly qualified for the Quarter-Final.

2 times, the defending SEHA - Gazprom League champion was the defending EHF Champions League champion at the same time: Vardar 1961 in 2016/17 and the 2018/19 season.

2 times in the history of SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 tournaments, two teams from the same country dueled in a Semi-Final: in 2013, when Vardar 1961 beat Metalurg 22:21, and in 2019, when PPD Zagreb beat Nexe 28:23.

2 SEHA Final 4 hosts - again Telekom Veszprem (in 2015) and Vardar 1961 (in 2018) - managed to raise the trophy on home ground. In 2012, PPD Zagreb missed the final on home ground, in 2013, Vardar 1961 lost the final in Skopje against Zagreb. In 2017 and 2019 each, Meshkov Brest finished third-ranked.

2 teams of the 2020/21 season of the SEHA - Gazprom League have been part of all nine previous SEHA Final 4 editions since 2012: Vardar 1961 and PPD Zagreb - but both will lock horns in the Quarter-Final already. Meshkov Brest were constant participants from 2013 to 2020.

3 different clubs have won the Final 4 tournament of the SEHA - Gazprom League: record winners Vardar 1961 (2012, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019), Telekom Veszprem (2015, 2016, 2020) and PPD Zagreb (2013). Only Vardar 1961 and Telekom Veszprem managed to defend their titles.

3 cities now including 2021 host Zadar have hosted the SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 twice: Skopje 2013 and 2018, Brest 2017 and 2019, and now Zadar in 2020 and 2021. Besides, Zadar is the third Croatian host city after Zagreb in 2012 and Varazdin in 2016. Novi Sad (Serbia, 2014) and Veszprem (Hungary, 2015) have hosted one tournament each.

3 (which means all) former or defending champions of the SEHA - Gazprom League are still in the race for the SEHA Final 4 in Zadar: Vardar 1961 will face PPD Zagreb in the Quarter-final, while Telekom Veszprem play against Nexe for the ticket to Zadar.

4 clubs – PPD Zagreb, Vardar 1961, Tatran Presov and Nexe - are part of the SEHA - Gazprom League since the start in 2011.

4 times in the history of the SEHA - Gazprom League (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2020), Vardar 1961, PPD Zagreb, Meshkov Brest, and Telekom Vesprem composed the field of participants of the SEHA Final 4.

4 times - every time they were part of the competition – Telekom Veszprem made it to the SEHA - Gazprom League final. They won the league three times but failed to do so in 2017.

5 different countries - Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, North Macedonia, and Belarus - hosted the final tournaments of the SEHA - Gazprom League.

6 teams were part of the 2015 edition of the SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 in Veszprem, as for the first and only time, Quarter-Final had opened the event, their winners were PPD Zagreb and Meshkov Brest. One day later, they faced Vardar 1961 and Telekom Veszprem in the semis.

7 cities were or will be hosts of the now ten SEHA Final 4 events.

7 nations are represented by the 10 clubs, participating in the SEHA - Gazprom League season 2020/21: Croatia (2), North Macedonia (2), Serbia (2), Slovakia, Hungary, Belarus, and Ukraine.

8 times in total and the last five times in a row, Vardar 1961 made it to the finals of the SEHA - Gazprom League (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), missing only the 2015 edition, while Telekom Veszprem were finalists four times (2015, 2016, 2017, 2020). Meshkov Brest (2014, 2015) and PPD Zagreb (2013, 2018, 2019) were finalists three times.

8 different teams qualified for the SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 from 2012 until 2020: Vardar 1961, PPD Zagreb (each 9 times), Meshkov Brest (8 times), Telekom Veszprem (4 times), Tatran Presov, Metalurg (each 2 times), Nexe and Celje PL (each 1 time).

9 different players had been MVPs of the nine SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 tournaments, but only from three different clubs: PPD Zagreb (Zlatko Horvat, 2012), Vardar 1961 (Strahinja Milic, 2013, Timur Dibirov, 2014, Joan Canellas, 2017, Luka Cindric, 2018 and Dainis Kristopans, 2019) and Telekom Veszprem (Chema Rodriguez, 2015, Momir Ilic, 2016 and Rodrigo Corrales, 2020).

9 times, which means all events, Vardar 1961 team captain Stojanche Stoilov was part of the SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 tournaments top also become the record winner by five trophies. Zlatko Horvat played eight SEHA Final 4 tournaments for PPD Zagreb.

9 times at nine SEHA Final 4 events Vardar 1961 and PPD Zagreb had locked horns. In 2013, Zagreb won the final 25:24 after extra time, in 2018 and 2019, Vardar 1961 turned the page around to win the final 26:24 and 26:23. In 2012 (30:29), 2014 (30:22), 2016 (26:24), 2017 (36:28) and 2020 (30:29 after penalties) Vardar 1961 took the upper hand in the Semi-Final, in 2015, Zagreb won the bronze final 26:23. They will face each other in the Quarter-Final this year, which means one of the SEHA founders won’t be a part of the SEHA Final 4 for the first time.

11 goals had been the biggest difference in any finals of the SEHA - Gazprom League so far, when host Telekom Veszprem clashed Meshkov Brest 32:21 in 2015. That is ahead of the 2020 final at Zadar when Veszprem beat Vardar by 8 goals difference (35:27). 

13 of 16 matches at eight SEHA Final 4 events, were won by Vardar 1961, while Telekom Veszprem won seven of eight matches at four tournaments so far.

13 different countries have been represented by clubs since the start of the SEHA - Gazprom League in the 2011/12 season: Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Hungary, Belarus, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, and PR China.

29 different clubs had been participating in the SEHA - Gazprom League since their start in the 2011/12 season.

35 goals of Telekom Veszprem in the 2020 final against Vardar 1961 (35:27) are the record for a single team in a final. Besides, the 62 goals in total were the highest number in a final.

39 goals in the 2012 final Vardar 1961 vs Metalurg (21:18) were the lowest score in a single match of the SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 events.

64 goals were the high-score in SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 matches - and this number was scored three times: in the 2014 bronze final PPD Zagreb vs Tatran Presov (36:28) and in both 2017 semi-finals Vardar 1961 vs PPD Zagreb (36:28) and Telekom Veszprem vs Meshkov Brest (33:31).

191 goals were the lowest score ever at a SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 event, 2019 in Brest.

233 goals were scored at the high-score event, 2014 in Novi Sad.

1905 goals were scored in all previous nine SEHA - Gazprom League Final 4 tournaments (Semi-Final, bronze medal matches, and finals) so far.
