SEHA Executive Committee decision on continuation of the competition in season 2021/22
On the SEHA Executive Committee meeting held on Tuesday, 12 July 2022, the decision has been made regarding the continuation of the competition in season 2021/22. The SEHA – Gazprom League season 2021/22 will continue in August 2022, with quarter-final matches being played between 8 and 25 August 2022 and the SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 from 2 to 4 September 2022 in the city of Zadar, Croatia.
After analyzing and calculating the average ranking of the teams in all the seasons they participated in the SEHA – Gazprom League, the eight best-ranked teams will participate in the quarter-final matches. The pairs of the quarter-final matches have been decided by draw and only one match will be played between the following pairs. The hosts were decided by a draw, as well, held during the SEHA Executive Committee meeting.
The pairs of the quarter-finals are:
QF 1: HC Tatran Presov - HC Telekom Veszprem
QF 2: HC Vardar 1961 – HC Nexe
QF 3: HC Vojvodina - HC PPD Zagreb
QF4: HC Eurofarm Pelister - HC Meshkov Brest
Additionally, the SEHA Executive Committee has confirmed that the SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 will be held in Zadar, Croatia, from 2 to 4 September 2022, with the following semi-final schedule:
SF 1: WINNER QF2 – WINNER QF3
SF 2: WINNER QF1 – WINNER QF4
As previously announced in March, all SEHA – Gazprom League matches in the season 2021/22 were postponed until further notice, in order to protect the competition’s regularity.
All teams participating in the SEHA – Gazprom League season 2021/22 have been informed accordingly. The SEHA Executive Committee is determined to remain on standby to convene further meetings if required, to reassess the situation, and adopt further decisions as necessary.
