Vardar playing for Final 4, Borac wishes to surprise
Vardar za Final 4, Borac za prestiž
On Tuesday (20:00 CET) Borac will in their last this season's home match meet Vardar. Macedonian champion is still leading a battle for Final Four from which they are now, theoretically, only one point away. But Vardar wishes to win and Borac would surely like to end this, financially stressful season, with a big match. The team from Banja Luka sees its chance in Vardar's tough schedule with both SEHA GSS league regular season's end, and EHF's Champions League clashes against HSV ahead of them. Vardar on the other side surely is not planning to decide about going to Final Four or not against CO Zagreb in Skopje and for that they'll have to play much better in Banja Luka than they were playing in recent past.
Raul Gonzales, Vardar's coach:
- This is a very important match for us because we can, with a win, reach the last available place on Final Four. We've seen Borac play Tatran few days ago and I have to say I was really impressed with them. We'll have to play on a high level to reach this win we wish som much. We have enough motive and I believe in my team.
Strahinja Milic, Vardar's goalkeeper:
- We'll face a tough opponent and despite of the fact that Borac is not so high on league's table they have a good team. They've showed high level performance against Tatran and I'm sure they'll try to repeat it against us. Butour goal is simple - win which would take us to Novi Sad.
Jani Cop, Borac' coach:
- Vardar is a team which has its style of playing with many quality players. We're playing them in a ood moment for us because they are waiting for their CL clashes against HSV. I like the fact that my team is showing great fighting spirit from amtch to match, despite of all problems we're facing. Players are exhausted due to a rough schedule we've had and it will be an additional problem for. I'd like to once again call our crowd, our supporters, to be here with us in our last this season's home match.
Mirko Mikic, Borac's player:
- Vardar is big favorite today. I'm glad that we've showed, in a match against Tatran, that we can play against strongest teams in the league. I also hope that we'll once against have support from our fans in Borik. Without them were just not the same team.
