Tatran’s chance to become No.1
Slovak
champion Tatran Presov will host Macedonian Metalurg in their last this
season’s home match. Metalurg has no chance to qualify for the Final Four so
coach Cervar has decided to give Metalurg’s junior players a chance to show
what they can. Match will be played on Wednesday in Presov (18:00 CET) .
Peter Hatalcik, Tatran’s coach:
- We expect a completely different than the one we’ve played in Skopje. Metalurg is one of the best European teams and they will surely do everything to win. This is, on the other side a good opportunity for us to prepare for Final Four. There is no pressure but of course we’d like to win. Now, our short term goal is to be first in regular part of the season and that is why we will concentrate on our playing style. We hope we will be able to get an advantage of our home environment and get important points.
Damian Krysztofik, Tatran’s player:
- We would like to win this match, the last one in regular part of the season, and give a big thanks to our fans. We are hosting a big European handball team with good players and that is why we would like to fight to win this match to prove that our team belongs to top teams in Europe as well.
Lino Cervar, Metalurg’s coach:
- We will travel to Presov only with players which are ready to play. That
would probably be mostly our second squad and they will get chance to show what
they can. I hope we’ll be good enough to fight for the best possible result.
Nikola Kedzo, Metalurg’s right back:
- We have a lot of injured players, our roster is significantly halved, but we will try to show fighting spirit and make problems to favorized Tatran today.
