Decision day in SEHA GSS League
Decision day has arrived. It is finally time to find out who was the best in SEHA League's third season, first with Gazprom South Stream as a main sponsor.
Season behind us was great, much better in every part of its organization than the first two. Fight for the final tournament in Novi Sad was interesting and competitive until the last round of the regular part of the season. The fact that Macedonian Metalurg, EHF CL's quarter-finalist, has not in the end been able to find its way to Novi Sad says a lot about quality of handball in the League.
SEHA GSS League third season's finalists are Macedonian Vardar Skopje and Belarus Meshkov Brest , after semi-final triumphs over CO Zagreb and Tatran Presov.
CO Zagreb will, from 16:00 CET in SPENS sports hall meet Slovak Tatran Presov in a third place match. Tatran missed a bit of luck to play the last game of the tournament while Zagreb did not have any chance against fully prepared Vardar. This season, each team has managed to take three points once, both at home. CO Zagreb was too strong Slovak champion in Sutinska vrela hall with +8 and on the other hand, Tatran was in Presov better with +3.
Tatran is surely fully motivated after a thriller loss in semi-final and CO Zagreb wants to prove that Vardar was not that stronger as it seems from the result.
In a crown match of the season, Vardar will after a clear win against CO Zagreb, in 18:30 CET, meet Belarus Brest Meshkov. Vardar has managed to beat Belarus team both times this season but that surely does not mean a anything. Another interesting thing will be brother duel between Vardar's Igor and Meshkov's Ivan Karacic. Winner will from Novi Sad bring SEHA GSS League's main prize - 35,000 euros.
Great handball day in SPENS is ahead of us!
