A Veszprém a barcelonai vereség után a Nexe elleni győzelemre fókuszál
Reigning SEHA Gazprom champions Telekom Veszprem will on Tuesday (18.00 CET) return to regional league action with a clash against NEXE Nasice at home. Hungarians who are aiming to acquire all trophies in competitions they are a part of have a loss from the last round of EHF Champions League in Barcelona (23:26) with the match against the team from Slavonia serving as a perfect chance for them to get back on winning tracks. NEXE are on the other side flying on wings of two high-quality performances - stunner against Meshkov (28:27) and a narrow loss against Vardar (27:30).
This will be sixth match for Xavi Sabate’s team. They are 4-1 after first five rounds and on the other side Nasice ‘Thunder’ have 2-1-4.
Xavi Sabate, Telekom Veszprem coach:
We are preparing for a
very good team which has managed to beat Meshkov at home. The have many young
talented Croatian players in their roster. However, we’re playing at home and
our goal is to win. We would like to play a good match in front of our
supporters.
Ádám Borbély, Telekom Veszprem goalkeeper:
I guess it will be a
difficult game against NEXE tomorrow. They’ve managed to beat Meshkov Brest
recently. They have a good team full of young players. I am sure that David Spiler
and his teammates will fight hard tomorrow but we must gather three points. We
must always play well and efficient in front of our fans. We did not have much
time to prepare after playing in Barcelona last Saturday but we’ll try to use
given time in the best possible way.
Zdenko Kordi, NEXE coach:
In every next match we’ll
face better, tougher rivals. Veszprem have more than three quality players on
each position. It is a big pleasure to play in Veszprem Arena in front of such
great audience. However, it is a big challenge and obligation as well. Veszprem
know how to play and are able to punish every mistake. We want to give our best
and see what it brings us against such a quality team.
Marin Vegar, NEXE left back:
We’ve recently played
two good matches beating Meshkov and coming up short against Vardar but our
performance was I believe far from disappointing for our fans. Veszprem are
another big team we’ll face. They have one of the best rosters in Europe. It
will be a good test for our players and our team. We have nothing to lose but
our goal is to play better than in previous matches in Veszprem.
