Plaskan: ‘’Our goal is clear – we’re going to Slovakia to win this!’’
Plaskan: „Náš cieľ je jasný – na Slovensko ideme vyhrať!’’
With the national team weekend behind us it’s time for more SEHA Gazprom action. Tuesday will be fully loaded with three matches and one of them is the clash between a team which has been a part of the League since its very beginning - Tatran from Presov and League’s rookies from this season - Slovenian vice-champions Gorenje Velenje. Teams are in different positions ahead of their clash in Slovakia scheduled for 17.00 CET with hosts looking to make a step away from the bottom having 1-6 score and guests are on the other side looking to come to a verge of a Final 4 placement with another victory having 9 points after 7 rounds. Tatran and Gorenje have already met this season, in a decisive match of CL qualifiers with Tatran grabbing the win making this an ideal chance for Slovenians and a pay back. Good narrow match is guaranteed!
By all this, we’re also celebrating the first anniversary of our #be8player campaign dedicated to fans and on each team’s first upcoming home match there will be a surprise for everyone. Fans are also invited to join our giveaway and win multiple prizes with a chance of winning an ‘all inclusive SEHA Final 4 weekend package’ so stay tuned!
Rastislav
Trtik, Tatran coach:
We are playing two tough games within two days -
at home in SEHA League versus Gorenje Velenje and away in Russia against
Chehovskie Medvedi as a part of Champions League. I hope our players will come
back in good shape and without injuries after the international break because
in last few weeks we were dealing with a lot of injury problems and diseases.
Gorenje are a high quality team. I expect it to be a tie game. Team with better
and more aggressive defense will win it. If we want to take three points we
have to be fully focused for all 60 minutes and keep the tactics running on the
court.
Dominik
Krok, Tatran player:
Gorenje are a high quality team. In September we’ve
managed to beat them in a decisive qualifying game for Champions League’s group
phase. However, every game is different and this encounter in SEHA League will
also go by that logic. The match starts at 0:0. We have only three points,
which is not enough and we will do everything in order to take three important
points and gradually go up on SEHA
League’s table.
Borut
Plaskan, Gorenje Velenje coach:
We have a clear goal ahead of this match and
that is to win it. I believe in our players. Last week we’ve had some medical
problems in the team but I believe that all our players, except for our injured
captain Niko Medved, will be ready for the new game. Before the face-off in Presov
we are still waiting for Nejc Cehte who is currently with Slovenian national
team in Portugal. In case all of our players manage to deliver a performance I
believe they can we’ll have a good chance to win this.
Darko
Stojnic, Gorenje Velenje player:
Long journey to Presov is ahead of us. We expect
a tough game but we’re well prepared. We’ve already played Tatran once this
season, in CL qualifiers so we know them very well. I believe in our team as
well as in our new triumph.
