Mandalinić pogodio u zadnjoj sekundi za pobjedu protiv Celja PL
Tight match from the very beginning with two of the best young players in Europe at the moment - Mandalinic and Janc, leading their teams in the first half. Mandalinic scored 4 in that period, Janc 5. Until the middle of the first half match was close with guests taking off after that on wings of their amazing fans Florijani enlarging the gap to 2 and keeping it that way all the way until the end of first 30 with Kodrin netting one for 13:15 with a wing shot buzzer-beater.
In the second half fans were given a chance to witness a true spectacle with multiple leading changes and amazing moves with the match coming to a close with 27:27 and Celje’s attack with a little less than a minute left to play. However, ‘Lions’ did not surrender with Stevanovic grabbing a crucial save and later Mandalinic scoring a buzzer-beater cracker after almost being knocked-down by Babarskas. Mandalinic and Janc were dominating the encounter scoring 9 goals each. Stevanovic has managed to grab 9 saves for Zagreb, Gajic went for 8 for Celje.
Silvio Ivandija,
PPD Zagreb coach:
We did not react well in
the beginning of the match on Celje's fast tempo but I have to congratulate my
players on even coming to a chance to score and win this and of course to Stipe
Mandalinic for doing it in the end in an amazing way.
Branko Tamse,
Celje PL coach:
Dynamic match with whole
lot of great moves from both sides. We were in lead for the bigger part of the
match but that's sport. Stipe in the end finished it with a great shot bringing
Zagreb a big win.
Luka Sebetic,
PPD Zagreb player:
There were many leading
changes during the match but in the end we've managed to reach a big win in
final second. Great way to achieve it in the end for the whole atmosphere in
the team.
Gal Marguc, Celje PL
player:
We've missed some important
shots in the end which could have brought us a victory providing them with a
chance to win this which they've managed
to do in the end with Mandalinic scoring an absolute cracker. But that's
sport...
