Kristopans: ''We are favorites and must prove it on the court against Tatran''
Криштопанс: «Мы – фавориты и должны доказать это на площадке в матче против «Татрана»
Meshkov Brest and Tatran Presov are two of the most consistent contenders all these seasons in SEHA League and they always play exciting games so nobody expects anything less from them tommorow, at 17:15 local time in Brest. Hosts are favourites currently standing on the second place with 13 points more than seven-placed Tatran. Slovaks lost their way in SEHA a bit, focusing on EHF Champions League lately but they never lack motive in big games like this one. Everyone still remembers that their last visit to Brest was victorious, last year, so they may find inspiration to repeat that one more time. It is still early season so it doesn't mean that they should give up on a F4 spot yet, but that means they should beat even stronger teams like Meshkov. Belarus champions have two victories in a row but they have never managed this season to make it three in a row this season. They however need points because PPD Zagreb, Veszprem and Celje are dangerously close in the race for a place on the F4 tournament.
Rastislav Trtik, Tatran coach:
We have to use common sense and stick with our tactics in this game. If we make minimal number of technical mistakes, manage defensive system and succeed in the first and second waves, it can be a very interesting encounter.
Igor Chupryna, Tatran goalkeeper:
It will be a very demanding encounter in Brest. Meshkov have a very strong and experienced team. We have to prepare for the game in our heads very well. We will try to play a quality match and show nice handball but it will certanly be very tough.
Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
All our previous games against Tatran were tough. We've lost to them in Brest last season so our motivation should be special. Slovak team comes with the strongest roster. They have some players showing good performances this year: Rabek, Chupryna, Hrstka. Rabek is the leader of the team. We must play in the manner that prevents Tatran from playing in the way they like the most.
Dainis Kristopans, Meshkov player:
Losing points in this one might prove to be costly. Our goal is F4. That is why we must win all home games at least. Despite of some injured players we are the favorites and must prove it on the ground.
