Ivancsik: ’’Gorenje are a good team but we want to win!’’
Ivancsik: ’’Gorenje je dobra ekipa, a mi si želimo zmage!’’
Reigning SEHA Gazprom champions Telekom Veszprem will in Velenje look for a new win to get back on positive track playing against Gorenje. Slovenian vice-champions will on the other side be eager to make another surprise, like they did against PPD Zagreb and grab points in a match against another favorite. Hungarian champions are having hot and cold streak recently losing against PPD Zagreb, managing to reach a draw against NEXE and beating Tatran dominantly meaning that Xavi Sabate’s guys no longer have right to make mistakes in case they want to reach SEHA F4.
Borut
Plaskan, Gorenje Velenje coach:
Our players are tired but on the other hand we
feel joyful about the win in Slovenian Cup. Next game against Telekom Veszprem
comes as aa award. We won’t be afraid of our opponent and I think that if we
get the chance to win it we’ll use it like we did against PPD Zagreb. Hungarian
champions are a tough opponent but we will show our best and hope not to
disappoint our spectators. We will play our best game until the last second and
then see what it brings us.
Gregor
Potocnik, Gorenje Velenje player:
Before our second game in this week, against Telekom Vezprem, we’ll have only one
day for training. Personally, I don’t mind hectic schedule. I can even say I
prefer it comparing it to our schedule last season.
Xavi
Sabate, Telekom Veszprem coach:
Velenje have very aggressive defense and are trying
to play as many conter attacks as possible. In attack they have strong and fast
players as well as some experienced ones like Brumen and Toskic. Their teamwork
is also very good. This is going to be our fifth game within ten days. It is
hard to keep the highest level in so many games, but we are tryng to do it.
Velenje are very dangerous at home where they have some good result this
season. We’ve managed to achieve a dominant victory against them in Veszprem
but I believe this will be completely different match.
Gergo
Ivancsik, Telekom Veszprem player:
We’ve managed to beat them by a big 9-goal
margin at home at the end of November but this will be whole new game. I am
sure match against them away from home will be much harder because they are
really dangerous. They are a typical Slovenian team which is really fast and
runs a lot. We were happy about the victory against Presov and we’d like to
achieve one in Slovenia as well. We will do everything to get the three points.
