Vardar have managed to secure a place on SEHA Gazprom F4 tournament after almost demolishing Meshkov with 35:30 (19:12). This was 12th win for Vardar as they prolong their superb domination this season.

The match was quite important for Meshkov and their wish to reach F4 tournament which is now in jeopardy with Celje PL being just 2 points away. Match which will decide everything will now be their encounter in Slovenian in the second part of the season.  

Alex Dujshebaev celebrated his 24th birthday in an amazing manner scoring 5 goals and leading Vardar today along with their rock-strong defense and brilliant goalkeeping duo Sterbik-Angelov between posts.

Raul Gonzalez, Vardar coach:
We are happy because of this win. We’ve known how strong Meshkov can be especially at home. My team was well motivated after the loss to PPD Zagreb in Varazdin. Goalkeepers were good today, we’ve played the first half excellently I can say and that was the key. Important win for us to secure the first place.

Daniil Shishkarev, Vardar player:
We’ve played well from the very beginning. Our defense was perfect. Petar Angelov and his saves were crucial in the second half to seal the deal giving us a chance to keep the gap opened and finish the match easily.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov coach:
Unlike my colleague, I can’t today be satisfied with my goalkeepers. It is also difficult to win when you fail to score from so many good chances. We’ve tried to change our defense, showed good spirit in the second half but that was not enough to cut the lead and fully get back into this one. Team must learn its lesson for the future.

Ljubo Vukic, Meshkov player:
We did not show anything good in defense and only had some decent moments in attack. Sterbik was impressive today and Angelov had some important saves later in the second half. Coach is right, we can learn a lot from this match.
