Rejuvenated PPD Zagreb looking for a first away win against Tatran closing SEHA season in Presov
Omladený PPD Zagreb sa bude snažiť o svoje prvé víťazstvo nad Tatranom pri ukončení sezóny v Prešove
SEHA season is officially coming to an end in Presov on Tuesday with PPD Zagreb coming to visit. PPD Zagreb have so far never managed to reach a victory in Presov and considering the fact that they need at least a point from remaining two SEHA matches it is clear they won't lack motivation. Hosts are experiencing severe injury problems but 'Lions' won't have their strongest roster on disposal in Slovakia either - after a tough home CL match against Celje PL and with the last SEHA regular season match in Varazdin against Meshkov right around the corner, it is clear why Silvio Ivandija decided to rest some of his key players taking rejuvenated squad to Presov. Match against Tatran will surely serve young players well as they are eager to prove what they can and how they can be valuable for Zagreb. Match is scheduled for 19.00 CET.
Silvio Ivandija, PPD Zagreb coach:
We're off to one out
of three SEHA away matches in which we still have not managed to reach a
victory. Tatran are a good team, dangerous in Presov so we're surely up to a
tough one. Our decision was to mix the roster up a bit for this match giving
younger players a chance with experienced one being given some time to rest as
we'll on Thursday play final SEHA home match of the season against Meshkov
Brest. Despite of that I expect everyone to prove they are worthy of Zagreb'
jersey and to give their maximum in order to reach new points.
Stefan Vujic, PPD Zagreb player:
We're off to Presov
with a mixed up roster which did not get to spend much time training together
but it is already clear that these young guys are here for a reason and that
they are up to a great future. Match against a team like Tatran will certainly
serve them well and considering the whole journey and the match it was probably
a good decision to rest some players. However, each player that gets to step on
the court will surely give his best in order to reach a first win in Presov.
Rastislav Trtik, Tatran coach:
We know PPD Zagreb
have to win to secure the third place after the regular part of SEHA League
season. We're still missing a lot of injured players. Despite of that we will
try to deliver the best possible performance and show nice handball in order to
make it a dignified farewell to our spectators in the last SEHA League game.
Lukas Urban, Tatran player:
We are going to play
our last game of this season's SEHA League. It would be very nice to win it.
Despite of having a lot of injured players, we're managing the situation above
expectations. PPD Zagreb are high quality rivals. We will do everything to win
this encounter and make this a winning farewell to SEHA League. We would like
to invite our fans to come to enjoy a very good game with us.
