Tatran to keep up with Vardar, Vojvodina to run away from the bottom
For the fifth time in history Tatran Presov and Vojvodina will face-off in SEHA - Gazprom League. Match will be played in Tatran Arena on Tuesday (20.30 CET). Tradition is on Slovak side with Tatran being able to grab three wins so far with one match finishing with a draw in Novi Sad. Slavko Goluza and his guys are favorites in this one as well because a win would put them right behind Vardar on League’s table. Vojvodina is on the other side dealing with a different situation as they are at the moment sharing the bottom with Dinamo. Win in this one would put them in front of Nexe and right behind Metalurg which means this will be a big challenge for Serbian champs.
Slavko Goluza, Tatran coach:
We do not definitely expect an easy game. Vojvodina is a team of higher
quality than it appears to be when looking on League’s table. Their schedule
was pretty rough as they played a lot of strong teams and that is the reason
for a lack of points by their side. We respect them but we’re certainly not
afraid of them as we believe in our skills and abilities. Goal is to focus on
improving on both sides of the court.
Michal Kasal, Tatran player:
It will be a very tough match. We have to play excellent in defense and
try to score easy goals. Defensive performance is always a basis for success.
Winning games with only good attack often proves to be impossible. We will
prepare well for the game and the goal is to go for three points.
Dragan Kukic, Vojvodina coach:
Three weeks of training and recovery processes for some of our players
are behind us. We’ll travel to Slovakia without captain Stojanovic to play very
serious team from Presov. They are led by Croatian coach Slavko Goluza who
surely brought a whole lot of freshness to their team. We’ll try to play best
we can.
Milan Jovanovic, Vojvodina player:
Long trip to Slovakia is ahead of us. We always play tough matches
against Tatran in which defenses often decide winner. We worked on our defensive
performance a lot lately and I expect us to keep earning more points and rise
on League’s table.
Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, EHF TV and Sport TV (Slovenia).
