Tatran join Nexe in the EHF Cup group stage
After a 24:21 win in the first leg against Hafnafjordur in Presov, Goluza's men lost 26:23 in Iceland. It was enough for them to secure the group stage, as they scored more goals in the away fixture. Dominik Krok led the Slovakian champions to this success, scoring 8 goals. Kasal, Hrstka and Butorac added 4 each.
Slavko Goluza admitted that it was a tough match, but he was happy with the ultimate result: ''I want to congratulate the team for an excellent fight. We showed great character, even though we were a bit nervous. We need to work hard on our focus and discipline throughout the entire match. We missed a couple of great chances to secure the win in the second half. Once again we showed our quality and ability to win tough matches like this one.''
In the meantime the draw was only conducted and decided that Tatran is going to face SKA Minsk, Bjerringro- Silkeborg and Magdeburg in Group A. Meanwhile, Nexe’s opponents are going to be Frisch Auf Göppingen, Finnish side Cocks and RD Koper.
