Start of the U20 EHF Euro in Slovenia
From the 19th to the 29th of July, Slovenia will host the U20 European Championship. Top European prospects will fight for title of the European champions, and many SEHA – Gazprom League players will be a part of the event.
The hosts Slovenia are entering the tournament with high hopes and they will have four Celje PL players, including their young star Domen Makuc who only recently turned 18. Other young players from the Slovenian champions are: Stefan Zabic, Gasper Dobaj and Grega Ocvirk.
Croatia will also bring some fire power, but the name that stands out the most is Halil Jaganjac from Metalurg. The top scorer of the 7th SEHA – Gazprom League season is just one among other good young prospects Croatia has. PPD Zagreb players like Vito Bahtijarevic, Josip Vekic and Tin Lucin. New PPD Zagreb player Filip Vistorop is also there, alongside other PPD Zagreb academy prospects Ivan Panjan and Leon Strbad.
Three Serbian players who got a chance in the SEHA – Gazprom League will also be playing at the tournament. Goalkeepers Todor Jandric from Vojvodina and Nikola Radovanovic from Dinamo will likely be the goalkeeping duo at the tournament. They both did well when called upon last season. Dinamo's Savo Slavuljica is the third SEHA player on the list.
Slovenia and Serbia will play in Group B alongside Norway and Israel, whilst Croatia was drawn into Group C with Russia, Spain and Poland.
