Vardar sign another Russian player- Gleb Kalarash
Reigning SEHA - Gazprom League champions Vardar one week before start of new season signed another Russian player – Gleb Kalarash (27).
The new player is 205 cm tall and plays as line player. He will join Stojanche Stoilov and Rogerio Moraes.
Kalarash played for the Russian national team on the EC 2016 in Poland and the WC 2017 in France. He will be the fifth Russian in Vardar after Dibirov (also has a Macedonian passport), Gorbok, Kiselev and Shishkarev.
Kalarash played for the second team of Chekovskie Medvedi and Neva from Sankt Peterburg from 2013 – 2015. Within this period, he won a silver and a bronze medal in the Russian championship.
He was voted as the best pivot in Russia for 2014/15 season.
Last season, he was part of Magdeburg in Germany and played the EHF Cup. He played 28 matches in the Bundesliga and scored 17 goals.
Vardar have already started the season by winning a trophy in the Macedonian Super Cup. They defeated the city rivals Metalurg 33:24 (16:10), with Dibirov scoring 8 goals. Skube and Kiselev had 4 each, while Milosavljev had 14 saves.
