Tatran welcome NEXE in round five derby
In the final match of SEHA - Gazprom League's fifth round Tatran will in Presov on Wednesday (17.30 CET) welcome NEXE Nasice. Fans in Tatran Handball Arena and all those who will tune in live on RTVS (Slovakia), Arena Sport (Croatia) and Sportklub (Poland) are without doubt up to a great one as both teams have already proved they will be serious F4 candidates this season. NEXE are waiting for the match in a bit better position having a perfect score from the first four rounds and a bigger amount of time to prepare for the encounter against a team which has in the last round managed to stun one of the strongest teams in the league Meshkov Brest away from home. Slavko Goluza and his players are however dealing with a tough schedule lately but history definitely teaches us no one ever takes points home from Presov easily. Without doubt – derby of the round!
Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
Situation we've found ourselves in is quite interesting as we've played four difficult and important matches lately while NEXE had almost an empty schedule using it to prepare for this match. I expect this to be an extremely tough match and I'd really like to invite fans to come and support us from the stands. Our goal is to deliver a team performance, display proper character and see what it brings us eventually along with hopefully our fans behind our back as an extra player. I think we really deserve the support from our fans.
Ante Babic, Tatran Presov player:
We've played many matches in the last ten days while NEXE on the other hand didn't play single one. However, we must play like in the second half in Skopje against Metalurg – good on the defensive side of the court because of their quality attacking options. We're up to a tough one but I think we'll win in the end.
Hrvoje Horvat, NEXE coach:
I think Tatran are favorites in this one as they are playing excellent this season. Even Vardar had a tough time playing against them. We'll be ready for a very hard match and 60 minutes of a real battle. They have an amazing 6-0 defense and quick transition. I hope this a bit longer break didn't cause our form to descend. Good news for this one is that Jelinic is back but Vozab is on the other hand experiencing certain leg problems so we're still not sure whether he'll be ready to suit up.
Marko Buvinic, NEXE player:
We've opened the season well. We feel better coordinated and like we're in an overall state of harmony. Our self-confidence has also risen but we mustn't allow ourselves to relax or take anyone easily. We've managed to keep the rhythm going with two friendlies in Slovenia and I also feel like we're going to Presov refreshed and fully ready to play for three new points.
