Serbian thriller ends with a draw
Second Serbian derby of SEHA - Gazprom League season ended with a draw with guests managing to overcome a three-goal deficit in final two minutes of the encounter and securing a big point in Slana bara sports hall after Dobrivoje Markovic netted one from the seven-meter line with the final buzzer.
Guests opened the encounter better reaching a three-goal lead (7:10) with a little less than ten minutes left in the first. However, after that home-team coach Boris Rojevic called for a time-out after which Dusko Celica and Jovica Nikolic took control of Vojvodina’s attack securing their team a minimum lead (12:11) after the first half.
Hosts started the second half in a better way opening the gap to four (20:16) 15 minutes into the second. However, highly-motivated guests managed to overcome the deficit in the end securing their first draw of the season.
Milos Grozdanic and Dobrivoje Markovic led their teams in scoring finishing the match with eight goals each.
In the next round Zeleznicar will host Vardar and Vojvodina will travel to Slovakia to meet Tatran Presov.
