Cupic: “Matches against Zagreb are never easy“
Vardar - PPD Zagreb 28:26 (13:12)
(Dissinger 7; Kalifa 10 saves / Srsen 8, Bozic Pavletic 6)
Roberto Parrondo, Vardar coach:
We're happy about this win against a good Zagreb team. This was not our best outing of course and I expect us to be way better in CL on Saturday. We did not play well at all in the beginning but managed to cut the gap eventually reaching the win in the end. We have three more regular season matches ahead of us and we'll try to use them to prepare in the best possible way for what's waiting for us on the final tournament.
Ivan Cupic, Vardar player:
Matches against Zagreb are never easy and are often decided by details. We missed four or five important players today but what matters the most in the end is the fact we managed to keep points here in Skopje. Now we can fully turn towards the match scheduled for Saturday. Congrats to Zagreb and I must say I think SEHA F4 this season will be very interesting.
Branko Tamse, PPD Zagreb coach:
Great atmosphere here today, a lot of fans which means they respect both Vardar and Zagreb. Speaking of the match itself, I feel like teams were quite levelled but Vardar were maybe better in key moments deciding the match in the last minute. I wish them all the best in matches ahead of them.
Radivoje Ristanovic, PPD Zagreb goalkeeper:
It’s always nice to play in front of a crowded arena. We’re dealing with some rough schedule having played Champions League match last weekend and another is already waiting for us in a few days. We ended up on the losing side again, just like against Flensburg, but we have a young team and in case we all put in good work we’ll most definitely get great results in return.
