Vojvodina just too strong for Izvidjac
Vojvodina have with their second win in a row in SEHA -Gazprom League confirmed regular season sixth position. Serbian champions approached the match against Izvidjac fully focused and ended up celebrating a confident 26:18 win in what was their final home match of the season.
Hosts were in control from the very beginning. Strong defense controlled by Dusko Celica and Svetislav Verkic between hosts wasn’t allowing guests any easy scoring chances. Verkic’ good saves were on the other side of the court transferred into easy goals, mostly by Milos Grozdanic who has with another strong performance managed to pass 100 regular season goals.
Vojvodina opened the gap to 14:7 with six goals in a row with about three minutes left in the first and it was already then clear this one is all over. After that coach Rojevic had an opportunity to rotate the team while keeping rivals at the safe distance. Milicevic managed to narrow the gap to only five (21:16) about ten minutes before the final buzzer but guests simply didn’t have enough strength to turn the result in their favor.
Milos Grozdanic led scorers in this one with eight while Svetislav Verkic grabbed 15 saves. Miljan Ivanovic on the other side netted five for guests.
