Buric: “We’ll look for revenge against Tatran after that ten-goal loss in Presov“
PPD Zagreb and Tatran Presov will on Wednesday (19:15) in Croatian capital meet in what will be the final SEHA - Gazprom League regular season match. Situation is quite clear – PPD Zagreb have already secured Final 4 spot and Tatran Presov know they won’t be there this season but are aware they can use the match against high-quality opponent in order to prepare for what’s waiting for them in national both Championship and Cup.
Matches between two rivals are always interesting and this one surely won’t be an exception, especially after Tatran defeated Croatian champions by ten goals in their premier encounter of the season which means ‘Lions’ will certainly look for revenge in front of their fans. Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, Sport TV (Slovenia) and Sport klub (Poland).
Tonci Valcic, PPD Zagreb assistant coach:
Tough ten days which we’ve spent in the bus are behind us. Clearly we’re not at our best at the moment but what matters the most is that we’re all healthy and that we’ve managed to return from five away matches with positive results. Goal against Tatran is to win the game despite of the fact we’ve already secured a place for ourselves on the final tournament.
Senjamin Buric, PPD Zagreb player:
We’re dealing with some fatigue at the moment but despite of that I believe we must go all-in in this match and try to win it. We don’t really care who we are going to play in the semis because we believe we can defeat anyone. This will without doubt be one of the best, most levelled final tournaments so far. We’ve managed to defeat all those teams already this season but we also lost against them which says enough about what’s waiting for us in Brest. A little more about the match against Tatran – it would be really nice to get revenge for that ten-goal loss we suffered in Presov in the first part of the season.
Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
My wish is for us to deliver a solid performance in Zagreb. We can’t qualify for the final tournament any more but we’ll use the match to prepare for what’s waiting for us in Slovak Cup game scheduled for this upcoming weekend. We will not travel to Zagreb with a white flag because it would be nice to put a winning end to this SEHA season.
Ognjen Djeric, Tatran Presov player:
Despite of the fact we can no longer qualify for Final four tournament we still want to reach a win against a very strong Zagreb team. We’re however aware they will also try to put a winning end to this season but in case we managed to stay focused I believe we might be able to reach a win in the end.
