Just like in 2017: Vardar to play Barca Lassa at the EHFCL Final 4
After we found out all four participants (Vardar, Telekom Veszprem, PGE Vive Kielce and Barca Lassa) of the 2019 Champions League Final 4, today in Cologne, we also found out the semi-final pairs of the Final 4. The draw was held in Cologne, with Mr. Michael Wiederer and Mr. David Szlezak as guests of the draw introduction.
The semi-final pairings of this year’s EHF Champions League are as follows:
Semi-final 1: Barca Lassa – Vardar
Semi-final 2: Telekom Veszprem – PGE Vive Kielce
Three of the teams appeared at the Final 4 of the Champions League in 2017, when Vardar sensationally won the title. That year, Vardar also played Barcelona, with Luka Cindric scoring the decisive goal in that semi-final. The SEHA – Gazprom League champions are the only team that played at the Final 4 last year, as well, since all three French teams that played in 2018 were eliminated.
Lastly, all four participating teams were in Group A this season, and Barcelona-Lassa were top of the very difficult group. There is no doubt that a huge spectacle is reserved for June 1st and 2nd in Lanxess Arena in Cologne, where we will get a new European champion!
