Izvidjac defeated by Borac in the domestic Cup final
The reigning champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Izvidjac from Ljubuski were unable to put their hands on the first trophy of 2019. In the double-header in the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borac from Banja Luka celebrated in two dramatic matches played in the last week.
The first match was played in Ljubuski, and the guests managed to snatch a 23:22 victory against Izvidjac, which left things open for the second match, that was scheduled today in Banja Luka. It was even more dramatic and finished 21:21, enough for Borac to lift the trophy in front of the home fans. Izvidjac evened the score very late in the match, but it wasn't enough to complete a comeback for Mario Bjelis and his players. Today, Vedran Delic and Milan Vuksic scored 6 goals each for Izvidjac.
Borac managed to defend the Cup title, and have now won it for the 7th time in club's history. However, Izvidjac will hope to defend the title in the domestic championship, which will surely be very interesting.
The club from Ljubuski was the only team from Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in the 8th season of SEHA – Gazprom League, and finished in 10th place with 4 points.
