Transfer Tuesday: Vardar unveil Vujin, Georgievski and Walczak
After concluding deals with Ante Gadza and Josip Vekic from PPD Zagreb, as well as with former Metalurg, RN Loewen and Balingen left back, Filip Taleski, Vardar have officially signed three new well-known players.
Marko Vujin, Serbian right back will move to Skopje after a year in Sporting, and will wear number 41 in the upcoming season. The 35-year old has been a household name for the last dozen years, previously playing for Veszprem (2006-2012) and famously THW Kiel (2012-2019). He was an important piece at the EHF Euro 2012, when Serbia won the silver medal playing at home. This will be Vujin's first time playing in SEHA – Gazprom League.
Vardar have also added a reinforcement at the right wing position, as they signed Goce Georgievski, North Macedonia national team member. The 33-year old will join the Skopje club from CSM Bucuresti, but he previously played for Fenix Toulouse, and most notably Metalurg, where he won numerous domestic titles from 2006 to 2015. He also played in SEHA – Gazprom League with his first Skopje club, and has recorded 116 goals in 64 appearances.
The third new Red&Black signing is Patryk Walczak, Polish line player who should be a replacement for Domen Sikosek Pelko, as he joined CDA Logrono in Spain. Walczak is coming to Vardar from the German club Nettelstedt Lubbecke. The 27-year old has also played for Kielce and Pogon Szczecin in Poland, but also for Massy Essonne. Walczak represented the Polish national team, having made his big tournament debut in 2017. He will be the fifth Polish player to appear in SEHA – Gazprom League, following the footsteps of Pawel Paczkowski, Lukasz Achruk, Damian Krzysztofik and Piotr Mateusz Kus.
