Hendawy grabs 15 saves as Eurofarm cruise past Tatran
Eurofarm Pelister managed to reach their second SEHA - Gazprom League win of the season coming out on top (26:18) versus Tatran Presov in what was their first ever win against Slovak representatives in the competition. Team from Bitola that way prolonged their five-game winning streak making yet another proof of their good form. This was, on the other hand, third loss in a row for Tatran in SEHA League.
Match was narrow from the beginning until Eurofarm managed to score six unanswered goals in nine minutes opening the gap to four (9:5) with about five minutes left on the clock which later proved to be the key to their win today. Karim Hendawy was splendid in the first with eight saves later finishing the match with 15 saves and 1 goal.
Guests arrived to Bitola with only 11 players and they simply weren’t able to deliver a performance good enough to play competitive match against highly-motivated host. Hosts were, on the other hand, without three important players in this one as well – Kusan, Madzovski and Kukulovski.
As the game was coming to a close, the fact that coach Goluza didn’t have enough players in the rotation was becoming more and more visible with hosts eventually opening the gap to 28:15 which was their biggest lead in this one.
Both teams however used this match in order to prepare in the biest possible way for what is waiting for them in EHF Europa League where Eurofarm will in the next round in only a few days travel to Switzerland to meet Kadetten Schaffhausen and Tatran will welcome Dinamo Bucharest.
Elmir Gradjan finished the match with seven for hosts while Josip Peric added six. Oliver Rabek and Pedro Pacheco netted five each for Tatran.
In the next round Eurofarm Pelister will play against Metaloplastika on March 18 and on the same day Tatran will in Presov welcome PPD Zagreb.
