Small-town team becomes a major threat on the European scene

If we tell you the matches there are starting with AC/DC ‘Thunderstruck’ and ending with ‘Inati se Slavonijo’ you should have zero doubt regarding the team and the city we’re talking about – it is the city of Nasice and their pride Nexe. Players and fans are sharing a special connection over there which was once again clearly visible after their EHF European League win against French PAUC which officially booked a place for Croatian vice-champions in the Last 16 phase of the competition. Nexe still hasn’t lost a match so far this year – ‘a small town with a big heart’, as their citizens like to call it, is proving to be a major threat on the European scene.
Another proof of the fact that Nexe is aiming high this year is their approach. Celebrations are, of course, allowed but tomorrow is a whole new day with the entire team and the coaching staff being fully aware that the job is not done yet.
Macedonian Vardar 1961 is coming to ‘King Tomislav’ sports hall on Friday to play a match in which Nexe’s players will have another chance to prove what they are made of. The schedule is as tight as ever with their Croatian top-division match being scheduled for Sunday, only two days before their European League away fixture in Sweden against Sävehof which will be their fourth match of the week. Nexe are however dreaming big and, at the moment, living the dream.
