At the beginning of the new EHF Champions League season Telekom Veszprem had some tough opponents in group B, such as Barca, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto, Dinamo Bucuresti, but they proved how strong they are. In the first five rounds, the Momir Ilic team was only defeated by their EHF FINAL4 opponent Lomza Vive Kielce (32:29).
In 14 group phase matches, the Hungarian team has eight victories, one draw match, and five defeats. Those stats brought them to the big handball stage, and this season will be the club's seventh EHF FINAL4 appearance in eight seasons.
