PPD Zagreb against Tatran for important points
PPD Zagreb i Tatran za važne bodove
Zagreb and Tatran are in the League since it has started, four years ago. They have in the meantime built an interesting rivalry and the match ahead of us will surely be just a new chapter in that story. They have played 8 matches against each other in the first three seasons. Zagreb was each time better at home (35:29, 31:29, 30:28, 42:34), 3 times in the League and once on Final Four. Tatran is in the similar situation. Team from Prešov has never lost a game playing in Slovakia. Zagreb was able to catch only one tie in three matches (32:31, 26:26, 31:28). Their last clash was on Final Four in Novi Sad last year where Zagreb was in battle for the third place better with 36:28.
Zagreb has opened the season with a win in Osijek against NEXE. Slovak team has on the other side lost first two matches, against Metalurg in Skopje as well as against Veszprem in Prešov. Simple conclusion is that Tatran wishes first points in this season's SEHA GSS League while PPD Zagreb surely wants to continue with good performances.
Peter David, Tatran's coach:
- I have to admit we haven't had a good start this season. We've lost first two League matches and missed chance to qualify for EHF's CL. We need something, one good game to bring us 'back to life'. We are preparing for this match really good and I believe my players and 100 percent concentrated on it. At this point we are quite confident and feel positive about our trip to Zagreb. We know it will not be an easy match but we will try to do everything to come out as winners.
Michal Kopčo, Tatran's player:
- I can, before this match in Zagreb, say just one thing. We need to break bad series we've had in the last few matches and start winning. It is the only way if we want to 'climb the ladder' a bit in this League and I hope we can do it already in Zagreb.
Boris Dvoršek, PPD Zagreb's coach:
- We will tomorrow play a very good team which is contantly one of the best in SEHA GSS League. We've prepared well, analyzed their new playing style with stronger defense and new players like Furlan on the middle back or pivot Kopčo and we're ready. I believe that we're favorites in this match and I'm looking forward to a good match in front of, I hope full 'Kutija šibica' sports hall. We are glad we're coming back there.
Zlatko Horvat, PPD Zagreb's captain:
- We are ready for the match against Tatran. We've trained hard, atmosphere in the team is great especially after the win and a great performance in Osijek against NEXE and we can't wait to get out on court and show what we can.
