Who will keep winning series - Vardar or Tatran?
Кој ќе ја продолжи победничката серија? Вардар или Татран
Both clubs have won their last several games in SEHA GSS league, and in this 8th round they will play each other in Skopje (Friday, October 24th). Host Vardar, has three consecutive victories in the regional League and Tatran arrive in Skopje with a series of four consecutive victories.
Before both teams go to two- week pause until the next match they hope to continue with their winning. This will after a tough CL's away match againt Montpellier and easier victory against Radnički at 'Jane Sandaski' be Vardar's third match this week hosting Tatran with a only one rest day behind them. To make it even harder for Macedonians, history says that Tatran is always and unpleasant guest in Skopje often reaching good results in Macedonian capital. This time Vardar is favorite and Tatran will surely do their best to use weight their hosts have both on their back and legs to surprise them and take points back to Slovakia.
Vardar and Tatran have by now met six times in the League. Vardar won twice, with one draw and three wins for Slovak team. Coach Gonzalez will not be able to count on his full roster with injured Alex Dujshebaev and Dobrivoje Marković.
Raul Gonzalez, Vardar’s coach
Tatran Presov is a very good team with an important role in the competition. They have strong defense 6 - 0, but also very good back players. This will for us be a third game in a week and we’re a bit tired but we will play in front of our fans and we expect nothing but three new points. We currently have some injured players but we also have a high quality roster and each one of my players has to be ready when given a chance if we want to play on SEHA GSS League’s F4 as well as on CL’s.
Filip Lazarov, Vardar’s player
This is busy and hard period for us, especially because Prešov is one of the best teams in the League. We know that they are much better than Radnički and we remember losses to them last season here in Skopje. But, we are playing in front of our fans and we must give our best to get three points. If we achieve that, we can say that we were successful at this part of the season, both at SEHA and EHF’s Champions League.
Peter David, Tatran’s coach
It is clear that Vardar is a big favorite in this match with home court
advantage. Nevertheless we are traveling to Skopje with a quite a bit of
confidence because we have 12 match winning streak and we will try to keep it
that way. Hopefully it will be nice match.
Jakub Hrstka, Tatran’s player
Our latest performance in Slovak Extraliga and last four matches in SEHA GSS League predict that we might ‘steal’ some points in Skopje but this will of course depend on our concentration and on doing what our coach has instructed us to.
