Vardar with three important points from a duel against Borac
Борац беше тежок противник, но Вардар не ги испушти трите бода
Vardar was expected to have an easy and convincing finish of the season at home in ‘Jane Sandaski’ hall but Borac have once again proved to be a tough opponents even for strongest clubs in the League. In the first half they were able to keep up with hosts and half time result is just a proof for that - 14:12. In the beginning of the second half Vardar have scored three goals in a row and reached 19:13. In the end the difference could have been even bigger but goalkeeper Abadžić had a few remarkable saves.
Abadžić has finished the match with 13 saves, Strahinja Milić on the other side, who came back after an injury 16. Stefan Terzić was Vardar’s best scorer with 8 goals, Shishkarev and Gorbok have added 6 each. Trivundža has on the other side scored 7 for guests.
Vardar remain second with 27 points, Borac ninth with 4.
Raul Gonzales, Vardar’s coach
It wasn’t an easy match, they play good handball. They have good coach and we’ve had problems with their defense. We didn’t feel good in the first half, but in the second our goalkeeper Milić had a few important saves, so we’ve managed to win.
Strahinja Milić, Vardar’s player:
It was a difficult and narrow game although the result doesn’t show that. We were not good enough in the first half but in the second we’ve caught our rhytm and took the victory. I wish Borac best in SEHA GSS League.
Igor Radjenović, Borac’ coach:
We’ve played good, especially in the first half in attack and in defense, but at the beginning of the second half our opponents made a difference of six goals, and managed to keep it until the end. It was difficult to come back. I want to congratulate to my boys for the character and the desire they have shown.
Milan Djukić, player of Borac:
We fought as much as we could, but of course, Vardar are a much better team, with more quality players on the bench. I want to thank our fans who traveled 1.000 kilometers just to support us.
