NEXE traveling to Prešov without coach Kordi
NEXE will, between Melsungen and Guif in EHF's Cup, travel to Slovakia to play Tatran. Tatran are fighting for League's third place and guys from Našice are wishing to reach League's final phase. Tatran have had more time to prepare and by that NEXE are traveling to Prešov without coach Kordi who has had health problems after the duel against Melsungen which gives hosts certeain advantage. Marko Mrđenović will lead the team, from court as well as from the bench. Tatran are big favorites, but careful after the loss in Banja Luka.
Peter David, Tatran's coach:
- We are expecting a very important and tough game against good opponent. I remember our first mutual duel quite well. It was very dramatic and basically that's why we wouldn't like to underestimate them at all this time. We are preparing for this match with full respect in order not to repeat the course of the game in Osijek. Also we would like to undo our unexpected failure in Banja Luka, to show good performance and fight for the best position for the final tournament.
Vasja Furlan, Tatran's player:
- We know we are not expecting an easy rival. NEXE've won against Vojvodina in their home match and for sure they will want to show the same against us. It seems like we are favorites in this match, so it is very important to break their resistance in shortest possible time. By nice performance we want to please our fans and undo our loss against Borac.
Vjekoslav Mahovlić, NEXE's secretary:
- Our coach is at home after having problems with his health. He had great desire to go with a team to Prešov, but we've all together decided it wouldn't be best thing to do - he needs rest. He will probably return to his job against Guif in EHF's Cup. During the match against Tatran, Perica Lelić and Marko Mrđenović, our most experienced players, will lead the team.
Marko Mrđenović, NEXE's captain and temporary coach:
- Of course we'll miss our coach, but he gave Perica Lelić and me very clear instructions. Each player in the team knows what he has to do. We will probably rotate much expecting tough EHF Cup's matches in near future.
