PPD Zagreb outplay Borac m:tel in second half
PPD Zagreb u drugom dijelu nadigrao Borac m:tel
PPD Zagreb have in 'Matchbox' sprts hall managed to beat Borac from Banja Luka with 30:25 and keep hopes of winning the third place after the regular part of the season alive.
Hosts have opened the match better but it was clear that this will not be an easy match for Zagreb although League's table suggests so. Borac have once again proved that big victory against Tatran was not just a coincidence playing tight in defence and good in attack catching Zagreb's advantage. After first 30 minutes result was 13:13. In the beginning of the second half-time same story - Zagreb were able to catch minimal advantage ( mostly thanks to great Stevanović on goal with 8 saves) with Borac catching them soonly. However, 10 minutes into the second half Zagreb's quality becomes visible, defence starts playing better, Raković and Mihić score some easy goals and enlarge the goal hap. In the end +5 with Mihić, Vuglač and Horvat scoring 4 goals each for Zagreb. On the other side Vujović scored 6 for guests, Janković added 5.
In the next round Zagreb will host Radnički and Borac will travel to Skopje to meet Metalurg.
Veselin Vujović, PPD Zagreb's coach:
We've known how good Borac is, how good their school is and that it won't be easy. It was not good in the first half, we were not playing good but in the second we've managed to break their tempo with Mihić and catch bigger advantage. Despite of that Borac have played a great match showing they belong in SEHA GSS League.
Igor Rađenović, Borac m:tel's coach:
We've played great first half and first 10 minutes of the second. However, after that Zagreb have changed defence into 5-1 with Mihić and we were not able to find a way to get through. In the end we've lacked strenght to catch them and that's it.
Mario Vuglač, PPD Zagreb's player:
We've entered the match in a bad way but were growing through the second half catching bigger advantage. Our rotation is obviously better at the moment. There were mistakes but we have to keep on working and everything will be alright.
Davorin Vujović,
Borac m:tel's player:
We have 3 aways matches in 8 days and we're a bit tired. We're a bit tired but satisfied with our performance. In the second half we have lost our rhytm allowing Zagreb to catch bigger advantage.
