Current SEHA GSS League's champions Vardar are hoping to continue the tradition of playing in regional league Final tournament's finals extending the tradition to third year in a row. Just to repeat, they are the only team which has so far managed to catch the crown twice, both times when the tournament was played away from Macedonia - in Zagreb and Novi Sad, which makes them maybe even most serious contenders for the title this season too.

In the regular part of the season they have lost only 3 times, away against Zagreb, Veszprem and Meshkov. Handball euphoria is more alive than ever in Skopje with not enough tickets for so many people desiring to watch Vardar in 'Jane Sandaski' - their new sports hall with 5,500 seats, excellent conditions requiring 'only' such results.

Team is in good shape with SEHA League's Final tournament, CL's Last 8 phase and domestic championship still ahead of them. They have this season decided to bring some experienced players to Skopje knowing that experience is what they need in order to achieve big results. Biggest reinforcement is Arpad Šterbik who has already been their joker for a few times in both SEHA and CL. Biggest problem where injuries from which most serious was Blaženko Lacković' ligament surgery. However, even without him, Vardar have reached level high enough to fight for trophies. Team's leaders, despite of all experienced players are Igor Karačić and Alex Dujshebaev who have also been voted for SEHA's regular season Best 7.

Coach Gonzales has this season decided to rotate much giving all of his players chance to show what they can. That is one of the most important reasons why there are no Vardar's players among League's TOP 5 scorers. Timur Dibirov scored 58 and Dobrivoje Marković is team's best scorer with 67 goals so far.

Crown of the season was triumph over, until then unbeatable League's rookie Veszprem in the final round with huge +7 (28:21). Final against Veszprem is what everyone expects despite of the fact that semi-final will surely also not be easy against the winner of the match between Meshkov and NEXE.

'Red and blacks' will surely go for 'hat-trick'.
