PPD Zagreb: Vujović concerned only about Mandalinić and Josip Valčić
PPD Zagreb: Vujovića brinu samo Mandalinić i Josip Valčić
Third-placed team of the last SEHA Gazprom League's season - PPD Zagreb will enter the new season with refreshed roster and old ambitions.
Some players have left the club. Pivots Ilija Brozović who will continue his career in German HSV and Teo Čorić who has joined Stuttgart as well as Bosnian national team player Duško Ćelica who will wear Eisenach' jersey. Goalkeeper Ivan Stevanović was also close to leaving 'Lions' but his club Bietigheim was knocked out of Bundesliga and PPD Zagreb have managed to keep him.
New players are pivots Tin Kontrec from Varaždin and Stanko Sabljić from German Erlangen, two left backs - new-old Josip Šandrk after a short adventure in Romania and young Marko Vukić from Kaštela. New reinforcement is also Stefan Vujić, young Croatian NT player and former member of French Nantes and Istres.
Biggest problem for coach Vujović will surely be Stipe Mandalinić' absence due to a knee injury and surgery he has recently had as well as Josip Valčić who will also not be available after a tough upper-leg injury. With two of them Zagreb will surely be much stronger. Preparations will start on 22nd of July and what will follow are tournaments in Germany, Austria and France. Coach Vujović will for those matches have these players:
Goalkeepers: Filip Ivić, Ivan Stevanović, Arian Jović
Wingers: Antonio Kovačević, Lovro Šprem, Lovro Mihić, Zlatko Horvat, Luka Raković.
Pivots: Leon Šušnja, Tin Kontrec, Stanko Sabljić.
Back players: Domagoj Pavlović, Tonči Valčić, Marko Vukić, Josip Šandrk, Stefan Vujić, Lovro Medić, Jakov Vrdoljak, Sandro Obranović, Josip Valčić, Luka Stepančić, Mario Vuglač, Luka Šebetić.
Vujović' new assistant, after Zlatko Saračević last season, will be former Željko Babić' assistant in Meshkov - Andrija Nikolić.
