Veszprem looking to extend the winning streak, Vojvodina’s test against the best
A Veszprém folytatná a győzelmi szériát, a Vojvodina a legjobb ellen bizonyíthat
Only two days after a surprising defeat in
IHF’s Super Globe 2015 final against Füchse Berlin 26:27 in Doha, Qatar,
Hungarian Veszprem are ready to extend the winning streak in SEHA Gazprom
League in the match against Serbian champions Vojvodina on Saturday (16.00
CET). With 70 minutes of tough battle in Doha on their shoulders Ortega’s
players will have to fully focus on the match against Vojvodina in which guests
will surely look to take advantage of Veszprem’s exhaustion and surprise CL’s
runners-up.
Carlos Ortega, Veszprem’s coach:
At the moment we can prepare for the game against Vojvodina only based on their first two matches of the season. Of course we already know a little something about them and we must not lose points at home. We’ve just got back from Qatar which makes situations for us a bit harder but as I’ve already said, victory is the only thing which would satisfy us on Saturday in Veszprem Arena.
Gergő Iváncsik, Veszprem’s winger:
We did not have much time to prepare for this match as we just got back from Qatar but we will try to focus and take points at home. It will be difficult since we are a bit exhausted from Super Globe and Vojvodina are fully prepared but we have to win this.
Nikola Marković, Vojvodina’s coach:
We are playing against one of the best teams in Europe. Our goal is to see how we can deal with the best. In case we manage to perform on our highest level it will be a sign for me that we’re on a good way to raise our form before upcoming CL’s matches. That is exactly why we need matches like this, against the best.
Miloš Orbović, Vojvodina’s right back:
We are well aware what Veszprem represents in handball world. It is an honour to play in Veszprem Arena and I’m sure we’ll give our maximum. I hope it will be enough for a good result.
