In an exciting 1st round match Tatran were in Prešov better than Borac with 27:26. With Hrstka scoring for the victory little less than 2 minutes before the final whistle. Borac were after 30 minutes 3 goals ahead and with 15 minutes left on the clock it was +3 for Tatran. In the end Mikić scored for 26:26 with Hrstka deciding the match. Vladimir Božić had 16 saves and Antl added 8 goals. On the other side 16 saves for Tibor Ivanišević and 7 goals for Trivundža. In the next round Tatran will on Wednesday host Zagreb and Borac will on the same day host Veszprem.

Rastislav Trtik, Tatran´s coach:

We knew the game will not be easy for us after the program we have had in the last few days. It was confirmed mainly in the first half, when Borac were better team. We were not able to concentrate properly in the first part of the game and keep our pace we are usually used to. We felt fatigue and could not find ourselves. In the second half we played better in defence. Our defence and goalkeeper Božič decided for our victory. It was very dramatic and interesting game for the audience in the sports hall. It was really close and tactically interesting game. We know what it means to lose the game by a single goal, because we've experienced that this week in Russia.

Vladimir Božič, Tatran´s goalkeeper:

Both teams played a very good game. In the first half we slept on the court, we were not concentrated, because yesterday we came from our trip to Moscow and Modra. We woke up in the dressing room, we started the second half really motivated. We played really well in defence and boys helped me a lot. Now we need to have a rest, have two good trainings and prepare properly for Wednesday´s game vs. PPD Zagreb. I hope that a lot of people will come and support us on Wednesday. We will fight from the first minute. I hope we will manage to win this tough game.

I would like to congratulate Tatran Prešov on their win. It was very tough and good game. Although we lost, I was very satisfied with the way how we played. My team played very well especially in the first half. We played much better than in the game vs. Vojvodina 4 days ago. We missed Mladen Bojinović a lot today. I believe we will play much better in the future, having more time for trainings, because now we play every 3 days. The game was decided by some individual mistakes of our players.

I also want to congratulate Tatran on their victory. They played a very good game. We also delivered a really good performance today. This is the way we need to play in the future. I hope we will continue with this kind of matches. And I hope that next time we will win.
