Banja Luka as a first part of Veszprem's trilogy

Banja Luka prvi dio Veszpremove mini trilogije

Borac

After appearances in CL it is time for SEHA's reigning champion to turn towards regional league challenges. In three days they will play three matches, Wednesday - Banja Luka, Thursday - Novi Sad and Friday - Subotica. It is clear that Hungarians are favorites in all those encounters but it will be interesting to see how will they deal with this road tour because it is really unusual. They are not in such a good mod because of CL's loss against PSG having some roster issues with Nagy and Zeitz not being fully prepared to help the team but they have everyone else which on paper should be enough to deal with each of their road tour opponents. Against Borac and Vojvodina they did not have any problems last season and they will this season meet Spartak for the first time. Borac have in Prešov showed a rising path and are having a chance to catch EHF Cup's group phase but the clash against Veszprem will surely be a tough experience for a team which is still creating its style and catching form this season.

Boris Dvoršek, Borac m:tel's coach:

A big rival is ahead od us, a team which is confidently marching through EHF's CL. They are big favorites but we have a chance to play a good game. It would be nice to repeat performance from Haslum or Prešov and we must definitely avoid performing like we did against Vojvodina. I also expect us to be 'bad boys' with an acceptable amount of sport impudence.

Stefan Janković, Borac m:tel's player:

We'll face a tough duel playing against a team which knows everything about handball. However, I expect us to repeat performances from Prešov and Banja Luka against Haslum.

Xavi Sabate, Veszprem's coach:

Three days, three cities, three matches. Borac a quality opponent. I remember last season, it was not easy. They have experienced players like Obradović, Trivundža and now Bojinović. We have to be fully concentrated in order to avoid troubles.

After them Vojvodina. Day later, fatigue will surely start to catch us. They have a good team and are stronger at home with recovered Ćurković who is important for their defence. We'll have to deliver in order to win.

Spartak Vojput are third and that fact solo says how hard it will be. However, we'll have to find way to finish the job as we expect to.

Máté Lékai, Veszprem's player:

It will be a bit weird with three matches in three days during CL break. I believe that last time I did it was 15 years ago. We want all victories. Some younger players will travel with us and will be given a chance. I don't think these three matches will be a problem for us.

Borac were better than they are now but with good atmosphere like they have it is never easy to win. Vojvodina will be the toughest match from these three and about Spartak I don't know much which says enough of how careful we have to be.
