Veszprem have celebrated second win on their three-days challenge in SEHA Gazprom League. After Banjaluka, Xavi Sabate guys had no problems outplaying Vojvodina in Novi Sad - 42:22 (18:11) for the second time this season (+23 goals in first clash in Veszprem). Hungarian champions have taken the favorite role seriously and made another convincing defeat for Serbian best side, which was last time leveld in eighth minute.

Veszprem made first advantage with 4:0 series for 8:4, but that was just a beginning of total domination in Slana Bara hall. Slovenian wing Gašper Marguč (9) as the best scorer, Andreas Nilsson (7), Gergo Ivancsik (6) and their team-mates had a lot of chances to punish weak attack of Serbian team with easy-goals.

The reigning SEHA GAZPROM champions opened second half with 11:1 series (29:12) and the winner was decided.

Milan Jovanović and Milan Vučković netted five goals each for home team.

 

Nikola Marković, Vojvodina' head-coach:

- Twenty goals might not be a real difference, but sure that shows Veszprem's power. For us, this defeat hurts, but we must be realistic. I gave a chance to younger players, because I wanted to see their reaction when they play against the best. I gave experienced player a chance to rest because on November 11 we will begin with 10 match series in 30 days. Second half was really bad.

 

Javier Sabate, Veszprem's coach:

- It was a pleasure to play in Novi Sad, good preparation match. We had respect for the opponent. We always have respect and we gave 100%. Behind us is a difficult trip because we've played in Banja Luka and tomorrow we travel to Subotica. 

 

Milan Vučković, Vojvodina's left back:

We've opened the match well, but then we stopped. Veszprem made a big difference. This is a great team and for our young guys was an honour to play against them.

- We did not expect this kind of an easy way to win. However, Vojvodina plays in EHF Champions League. The result is a surprise for us. We had a long travel from Banja Luka. I congratulate my players.
