Meshkov looking to end the year with a victory
БГК желает завершить год победой
After four defeats so far in SEHA Gazprom League against Veszprem, Meshkov are looking to finally take revenge. Hosts would surely like to end the year with a victory as this is their last match in the League in December. This is also one of League’s biggest derbies which can rearrange the table.
Veszprem are only undefeated team so far this season with seven matches behind them. Meshkov are on the other side currently fourth with 21 points but also with three losses.
However, hosts are experiencing two game winning streak in Champions League which shows that their form is rising. They have already managed to secure KO round of CL and with this victory they would get on the right path for first 2 positions in regional league. At the beginning of September Veszprem were in Hungary better with 31:27.
Veszprem were so far four times better including last season’s F4 finals.
Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov’s coach:
Rival does not need any comments. They have outstanding players in all positions and are famous or their defense and goalies. They also play very good in attack having great, experienced and physically prepared roster. It will be difficult but everything is possible. We need to score from clear chances and give everything in our last SEHA match of the year. We’re hungry for a victory.
Vyacheslav Shumak, Meshkov’s player:
We’re finishing SEHA season against Veszprem and of course we’d like to present our fans with a big victory. That will be difficult but in case we do our best everything is possible.
Xavi Sabate, Veszprem’s coach:
We’re coming of a tough duel against Kiel and we’re about to play very good team of Meshkov. They are group leaders in CL with remarkable players like Atman, Stojković, Kristopans, Nikulenkau. They have aggressive both 6-0 and 5-1 defenses. We must prepare well in short time to win.
Gašper Marguč , Veszprem’s player:
Meshkov are one of League’s best teams and leader of their Cl’s group. They are a good team but we’re good too. We would like to repeat our last season’s performance from Brest on Wednesday. This would be an important victory for us which would help us forget about Kiel.
