Prešov hosts League's leaders Vardar
Prešov privíta lídra ligy Vardar
Vardar Skopje will on Tuesday (18.00 CET) come to Slovakia to play Tatran in Prešov in a match of SEHA Gazprom League's 14th round. Teams have already met this season in Skopje with Vardar celebrating a 39:32 victory. Tatran are waiting for the match in a bit tough moment for them - after two losses, in Banja Luka and at home against NEXE with trip to Veszprem just around the corner. They surely are a bit disappointed but do have motive against huge favorite which is in good series of three wins after a draw in Hungary.
Rastislav Trtik, Tatran´ coach:
It is really hard to get over what happened to us in the second half of the last game against NEXE on Saturday. Those are moments when one loses the will to play handball, especially knowing that youn can't do anything about it. We have to completely forget this match. On Tuesday we have to face Vardar, who are the top favourites of SEHA League together with Veszprem. If you want to succeed against one of the best European clubs, you need to deliver an amazing performance giving more than you really have on court, more than 100%.We have nothing to lose, we will fight hard and try to show our best display. I hope the game versus Vardar will attract a lot of fans to come to the stands and support us in one of the most exciting matches of SEHA League´s season.
Oliver Rabek, Tatran´ left back:
The worst thing for us is to cope with what happened in the second half on Saturday. If you watch the replay of the game versus NEXE, you will understand clearly. Now we have to fully concentrate on the match against Vardar Skopje. They rank among the best European clubs, which they are proving in all competitions they are participating in this season. We will study their play and prepare thoroughly for the game. We want to reach the best possible result. We would like to entertain our fans providing them with a tense clash against Macedonian champions.
Raul Gonzales, Vardar' coach:
After beating Vojvodina Novi Sad we are ahead of anonther challenge in SEHA league, which will also be our last match on road this year. Tatran Prešov is a quality team which always play exciting handball and I expect them to do so once again tomorrow. They are dangerous because recently they were on top of standings, but they lost their rhythm and will do everything to get back on track. We are in a winning series and currently we are on the top of the table, so I expect my players to play fully motivated in order tostay where we are.
Strahinja Milić, Vardar' goalkeeper:
Against Tatran we have to play our third match in last 5 days, which will be our second road match in a row. Maybe we are a little tired due to recent journies but we'll give our maximum to finish the year in style. We need to win three points in Prešov, and two days later our goal will be the same against Spartak at home. We are ready for the challenge and we expect another victory that will most certainly additionally increase our F4 chances.
