Gorenje with a favorite role, Vojvodina looking for first points on road
In a postponed match of SEHA - Gazprom League Round 5 Gorenje will on Sunday in Velenje (17.00 CET) welcome Vojvodina. Team from Velenje will enter the match against Serbian champions with a favorite burden on their shoulders but we must add that Vojvodina found a way to move from League's bottom with a win against Metalurg and that they will now look for the premier points away from home.
Team from Novi Sad will surely have more time to prepare for the match as they last week ended their EHF Cup adventure losing to Swiss Winterthur. Gorenje are on the other hand doing fine in Champions League - goal is to be well prepared for the match against Elverum but also for the one against PPD Zagreb they'll play in their Rdeca dvorana. For an ambitious roster led by Zeljko Babic this will be a great way to prove their value. Match against Vojvodina should not be something they'll slip on although guests think otherwise.
Zeljko Babic, Gorenje coach:
Our team is tired due to a lot of travelling and plenty of games lately. That's an additional reason why the match on Sunday won't be easy. It is important to play good defense because it usually gives you a chance to play good in attack and score easy goals. Vojvodina can surprise us if we allow them and that's why I expect my team to deliver their A-game. We're experiencing certain injury problems with Zarko Pejovic, Vid Levc, Darko Stojnic and Jan Grebenc all ending up sidelined for this match. Despite of everything, our goal is to fight from the beginning until the end so fans can expect an interesting encounter.
Alem Toskic, Gorenje player:
We're favorites in this one, we're expecting a win. Our team is however a bit tired due to a really deadly tempo we've been dealing with lately. Playing two games a week is not easy but we'll do everything to make our fans happy before the national team break.
Dragan Kukic, Vojvodina coach:
We are going try hard to deliver best performance we can in this one. Last game was not our best one for sure and the goal is to do better obviously. I expect my players to react after poor performances and bad results. Slovenian team is very strong.
Vukasin Stojanovic, Vojvodina player:
I can't explain why we play differently in practices and on match days. I'm sure we can play way better than we are playing lately. I see this match as an opportunity for us to play our best and finally prove what we're capable of.
Match will be broadcasted live on Arena Sport channels, Sport TV (Slovenia) and EHF TV.
