Celje secure three points in Slovenian derby
Branko Tamse and his boys managed to reach yet another Slovenian derby win of the season led by amazing Lesjak between the posts celebrating 31:27 against Gorenje Velenje at home in Zlatorog Arena.
Match was close in opening 15 minutes all the way until Gal Marguc scored to open the gap to +4 a bit less than 10 minutes before the half-time whistle which proved to be the key moment of the encounter. After that hosts did not let Gorenje get closer with Borut Mackovsek scoring for 27:19 (+8) about 15 minutes before the end which finally sealed the deal in this one. Until the end Gorenje only managed to make this loss look a bit better and more acceptable with Celje’s defense proving to be the match-deciding factor today.
Jaka Malus and Kristijan Beciri led Celje PL today scoring 6 each. Urban Lesjak had 10 saves while on the other side experienced Alem Toskic and Matjaz Brumen netted 6 each as well.
